The Future Snoop
Benny Johnson was a journalist that was sent begrudgingly into the future. To the year 2061 to be exact. He was what in the present year of 2026 was referred to as a future snoop. A future snoop was a journalist that got strapped into a F1BM machine( first ever time traveling machine). He or she would then be dissolved into an deatomized hologram and electrically slingshotted into a set time period. I say begrudgingly because Benny hated going into the future.
It paid way more per lightyears, but he was more of a retro person. The future was nauseating to him with all the machines everywhere. Life really had no meaning in the future. People lived like they were just playing a video game. He wished they could send him backwards, but they hadn't invented that machine just yet.
Benny was just a young nerd that fancied himself somewhat of a Sherlock Holmes type. He liked the smell of old books and mahogany which was all but extinct in 2026. He always wore argyle socks and a brown wool Kangol hat. That somehow made him feel like he had the world under control even as he felt it slipping through his fingers. He was 30 years old but felt like an old man that was born in the wrong era. He was always a loner and a bit awkward to boot.
